Jackpot slots

Fixed jackpots, standalone and wide-area progressives, and why stake contribution changes the base-game return. No live pot sizes.

A jackpot is a prize above the ordinary paytable. It is either a fixed amount written into the game, or a pool that grows as people stake. The pool is the reason jackpot slots need their own explanation. The growth is funded by stakes, and a stake that funds a pool is a stake that is not available for the base-game prizes.

Fixed, standalone, and wide-area

A fixed jackpot is a stated multiple or a stated rand amount. It does not grow while you watch it. The help file should say what triggers it. If the file does not, you do not know the price of the feature.

A standalone progressive grows from stakes on that game at that casino. A local progressive can pool several games inside one casino. A wide-area progressive pools stakes across casinos that share the network. The wide-area pot is larger because the contribution base is larger. It is also less connected to how much you, personally, have staked. Your spin buys a chance. It does not buy a share of the pot.

Must-drop prizes

Some progressives must pay before a clock time or before the pot reaches a stated amount. That rule changes the chance as the deadline approaches. It does not make the game a positive expectation for a player who arrives at random, and it does not tell you the RTP. If a game has a must-drop rule, the rule will be in the help file, with the deadline or the cap. We did not find a must-drop rule to quote from the four casinos reviewed here.

Why the base game can look mean

Suppose a game takes R1 a spin and sends 2 cents to a jackpot pool. Those 2 cents are not in the base-game prizes. A help file that quotes only the base game will show a lower return than a file that quotes the game including the jackpot. Comparing the two numbers as if they described the same thing is a mistake. If the file is silent, we do not fill the silence with a guess.

A jackpot that has grown a long way is still attached to a game with a house edge, unless the published RTP including the current pot is above 100%. That state is uncommon, hard to verify from outside the help file, and temporary, because the pot drops when it pays. Chasing a screenshot of a large pot is not a method.

Names we saw, figures we did not copy

On 16 October 2026 the White Lotus Casino homepage listed six progressives: Aztecs Millions, Jackpot Pinatas, Let’Em Ride, Megasaur, Shopping Spree II and Spirit Of The Inca. Those are titles on a lobby. They are not a ranking of pots, and this guide does not print a pot size. Springbok Casino’s homepage shows a jackpot counter. The number moves, so it is not reproduced here.

Apollo Slots and Silversands Casino did not give us a progressive name list in the HTML we archived. Absence from this page is not a claim that their lobbies have no jackpots. It is a claim that we did not copy names we had not read.

A jackpot and a coupon

Bonus rules often exclude some games, or count them at a reduced rate, toward wagering. A jackpot slot is a frequent exclusion because the stake is funding a prize the operator does not want credited against a coupon. Read the coupon before you open the jackpot game. The free-spin offers page quotes the wagering bases we could verify. The Silversands review quotes a chip that names excluded slots outright.
